Race for the Kids
Raising Awareness for Cystic Fibrosis and Spina Bifida
Race for the Kids is a fundraiser for children who are suffering with an illness in an effort to improve their quality of life. This year Discipleship has chosen to raise awareness on Cystic Fibrosis and Spina Bifida. The hope for this race is that it will bring college students and the community together for a common cause.

Date: Sunday, April 1, 2012
Time: 2:00 p.m. (check-in/registration begins at 1:30)
Location: Island Park in Winfield, KS
Cost: $10 (per participant)
* Special Offer: School Sports Teams may participant for $50
Disclaimer: If weather becomes an issue, the race will be cancelled. However, your donations are still greatly appreciated.

- 1 mile walk
- 400 yard fun walk (for ages 12 and under)

Who is Hosting the Event?
Discipleship Southwestern is a program at Southwestern College that exists to encourage college students as they begin, or continue, the journey of becoming mature disciples of Jesus Christ at home, work, church, and in the world.
Hands and Feet Committee
The Hands and Feet Committee of Discipleship Southwestern exists to provide students with opportunities to participate in ministry through both local ministry and outreach events. This committee exists to encourage students to be the hands and feet of the body of Christ and to help put into action our call to serve those in need. We strive to not only serve, but to also build relationship with those we meet.
Where Will the Money Go?
90% of registration fee will go towards a foundation representing each illness (with 10% going towards the cost of the race.) The foundations for this year’s race are: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Spina Bifida Association. For more information on these illness you can check out their websites:
