I grew up in Liberal, KS and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in physics from Southwestern College in 1999. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I worked as an engineer tech in the Non-Destructive Inspection department at Cessna Aircraft for three and a half years. In 2002, I married my wife, Amanda and in 2003, the we moved to the Dominican Republic to serve Jesus as missionaries. From 2004 to 2006, I taught high school physics and mathematics at a private school in Santo Domingo and in 2005, I helped launch the Dominican ministry of Crown Financial Ministries. I served as the National Ministry Developer for Crown in the Dominican Republic from 2005-2008 when I returned to his alma mater, to become director of Green Team Southwestern. In 2007, my wife and I adopted our son Edwin. He is currently our only child. Adopting a child can be challenging, but it has been the most rewarding thing that we have ever done. I completed my Masters of Science in Leadership from Southwestern in 2008.
One of my newfound passions is Latin American culture, from the language to the food. It took me several long, hard years to learn to speak Spanish, but now I enjoy speaking it as much as possible. I love Latin American food! From the zesty food of Mexico to the flavorful rice and beans of the Dominican Republic, I love it! Latin culture has a close, family feel to it. Hugs and kisses on the cheek are always welcome!
I am a sports fanatic! I love to play or watch nearly every sport. Basketball, baseball, football, golf, tennis, and hiking are all pastimes that I really enjoy. I also love to watch sports. It really does not matter what teams are playing, but the Moundbuilders, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas Jayhawks, and Atlanta Braves are some of my favorites. Please don’t hold any of those selections against me if you are considering being a member of the Green Team!
Hope to see you soon! Please feel free to contact me anytime!
