Dr. John Paulin enters his 23rd year as head coach of the SC Moundbuilders tennis program. Across the years at SC, Paulin has led the SC Lady Builders tennis team to compete in three national NAIA Championships (1981,1983 and 2007), they have won one Kansas State title (Kansas Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in Kansas), one regional title (NAIA Region IV Women's Tennis Championships), and nine Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championships. Paulin has had over forty KCAC All-Conference performers, over twenty-five KCAC Academic All-Conference performers, twenty ITA Scholar-Athletes and six NAIA Academic Scholar-Athlete All-Americans. He has been named KCAC Coach of the Year nine times, KAIAW Coach of the Year in 1978 and NAIA Region IV Coach of the Year in 2007. The NAIA national committee also gave Paulin the 2006-07 NAIA Region IV Coach of Character Award. In 2006-07 Paulin was inducted into the Southwestern College Athletic Hall of Fame. Three former members of the women's tennis team have been inducted in the SC Athletic Hall of Fame. Since 2000 Paulin has coached both the men and women's tennis teams at SC. |
