About Me:

I like to exercise and stay reasonably fit. I'm not a hard-core runner, but more of a steady jogger. I like to play the guitar. I sometimes help lead worship which is very enjoyable. It's fun for me to download songs of many kinds from the internet and try to learn them. I'm not a metal head, for sure. I love acoustic ballads like "Starry, Starry Night," from Don McLean or "If You Could Read My Mind," from Gordon Lightfoot.

I didn't grow up as a farmer's kid, but I lived in rural areas, so I pretty much feel like a farm kid. I spent a lot of time horseback, helping people with their cattle and even doing some breaking and training of horses, as well as shoeing and trimming hooves.

I still feel funny when people call me "Dr. Rankin."
