The Southwestern College Development Office and the Alumni Programs Office both come under the direction of Paul Bean, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. The Development Office focuses on raising money for several projects. One of the most important projects is the Annual Fund, which includes making visits, phonathon, and direct mail. The Annual Fund takes care of the yearly needs of the college, a large portion of which is used to offer scholarships each year, making it a financial reality for more students to be able to attend SC. Development officers also visit alumni, friends, and businesses seeking assistance for the college including fundraising for capital projects, helping with deferred gifts, and they are constantly working to increase the endowment.
