Southwestern College Allied Health Camp,
June 20-25

Participants paint a mural representing the camp. Local hospitals and health agencies teamed with Southwestern College to provide an unusual summer opportunity for high school students interested in health careers. Hospitals and agencies sponsered the students as they attended Allied Health Camp at the Winfield college June 20-25.
Camp participants look on following the Mock Disaster. Organized by Southwestern nursing students, the camp included career planning and skills training, building team and leadership skills through group activities, and camp activities ranging from mural painting to a cookout at the lake.

"We're extremely pleased that the hospitals and agencies in the students' hometowns are working in partnership with Southwestern to provide this opportunity for high school students," says Susan Bumsted, associate professor of nursing. "The combination of encouragement from their homes and opportunity at the college will be a real boost for someone interested in a health care career."
