Winfield, Kan., March 14, 2002—Seth Roach will
present a piano recital at Southwestern College Thursday, April
11. The junior piano major will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Messenger
Recital Hall in Darbeth Fine Arts Center. It is free and open to
the public.
He will be playing selections from J.S. Bach, Beethoven,
Chopin, Gershwin, Ginastera as well as a couple of jazz classics.
Roach began playing the piano at age 10 in Halstead
under the teaching of Marge Zarnowski. Jean Gould taught him during
his high school years. At Halstead High School he was a member of
Tri-M music society, a member of the Concert Band, and also participated
in drama and theatre.
At Southwestern, he is currently a piano student
of Timothy Shook, associate professor of music. He is involved with
other ensembles including Concert Band, Jazz Band, and music theatre,
and has participated in Praise Band, Pep Band, and Keynotes.
