Winfield, Kan., March 25, 2002 — The president of the Kansas Bar Association will be in Winfield Friday, April 12, to talk with students interested in careers as attorneys. Southwestern College will host the event from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Memorial Library reference room on campus.

James Bush, president of the association, will speak to students in Southwestern’s prelaw association as well as to any high school students interested in the field.

“This is a celebration of the revitalizing of the prelaw program at Southwestern,” explains SC associate dean Andy Sheppard. “In particular, we ’re celebrating the value of a liberal arts education for students entering the law profession.”

In addition to Bush, invited guests include Southwestern alumni who are practicing attorneys in Kansas, local attorneys, representatives of the University of Kansas School of Law, and others who have interest in the profession.

“Guests will be able to reconnect with the college, as well as offering the benefit of their experiences to these students interested in becoming the new generation of lawyers,” Sheppard adds.

No preregistration is necessary. For more information, contact Sheppard at Southwestern College, (620) 229-6227.
