Winfield, Kan., December 4, 2001 ¾ The Southwestern College Education Builders recently raised $360 for Winfield school libraries by selling suckers on campus last semester.

Holy Name School, Trinity Lutheran School, and Grade Little Builders Preschool each received $30 for new books. The remaining money was equally divided among Winfield’s seven elementary schools and the middle and high schools.

The Education Builders is a student organization for SC education majors. Members do service projects, bring in guest speakers who speak on educational issues for local schools, and answer other education student’s questions. Education Builders also serves as a support system that has been set up to take care of any student needs-from borrowing books to teacher help.
