Help>>find a book and/or eBook
1. Search the
SC catalog for books and/or ebooks.
- Power Search - This search opens immediately when
you access the catalog. Change the access points located
in the drop down boxes to select what you want to search.
Most common access points are:
- word(s) aka keyword (allow you to use any terms
but not all results will be relevant),
- title,
- author, and
- subject (all results will be relevant but must
use specific term).
Adjust terms as needed to retrieve results that are
relevant to your topic and that you can browse. Also
change the access points to, if needed, to make the
search more unique.
Search options available under the text boxes allow
to focus a search to a specific format, media (ebooks),
location (Book Collection), and language.
-
Browse Search - Use this search option when you
want to search for a specific title or author. It
is also a good way to search for a subject term
to find all relevant books.
2. For print books, search the
database WorldCat, a catalog
of national and international libraries. This database has
over a billion records; therefore, focus your search as
much as possible and use some of the various limit options.

& eAudiobooks.
