Southwestern College head men’s basketball coach Matt O’Brien has announced dates and times for the upcoming Southwestern College basketball camp. Camp will be Tuesday through Thursday, May 27-29, from 1-4:30 p.m. and will be held at Winfield High School. First through eighth grade boys and girls will be in one group while ninth through twelfth grader boys will be in the other group. Cost of the camp is $85 which will include a camp T-shirt.
O’Brien will team up with Winfield High School girls basketball coach Jason VenJohn for the first- through eighth-grade camp. The camp is designed for basketball players of all abilities. The program is intended to develop each athlete’s ability through drills and competition. O’Brien and VenJohn will focus on developing a player’s entire game to include skill development for every position. Instruction is focused on increasing the understanding of how to play the game so players can maximize their ability.
O’Brien will team up with other Southwestern College basketball coaches and players for the ninth- through twelfth-grade camp. This camp is for players who want to be challenged. O’Brien and his staff will drill campers on the fundamentals as well as team play.
“Our entire staff will be committed to making your child’s experience nothing short of fantastic,” O’Brien says.
Both camps will feature a foul shooting competition, hot shot competition, team competition, and individual awards.
Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of camp on Tuesday and will continue until the start of camp. For more information call O’Brien at (316) 650-0076 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
