SC Students Recognized by KATS

SC students Honored by KATS

Seven Southwestern College students have been recognized by the Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society (KATS) honor roll.

• First team—Nathan Morrison, Osborne.

• Second team—Rene Schwann, Salina; Krystal Tyree, North Little Rock, Ark.

• Honorable mention—Katie Bipes, Topeka; Kelli Florio, Kindell Copeland, and Kimberly Kellogg, Wichita.

First-team nominees had to be junior or above in academic standing, active within the professional phase of the athletic training education program (ATEP) (minimum of five academic semesters completed), and achieve a 3.8/4.0 KATS honors average. This is the average of the student’s spring grade-point average (GPA), fall GPA, and cumulative GPA.

Second-team nominees had to be junior or above in academic standing, active within the professional phase of the ATEP (minimum of five academic semesters completed), and achieve a 3.6/4.0 KATS honors average.

Honorable mention nominees had to be sophomore or above in academic standing, active within the professional phase of the ATEP (minimum of three academic semesters completed), and achieved a 3.4/4.0 KATS honors average.
