Michelle graduated summa cum laude from Emporia State University with a BS in elementary education and an endorsement in special education. She received her Master's in Education from Wichita State University, focusing on curriculum and instruction. She also has a Reading Specialist endorsement. She has taught in the public schools in Buhler, Kansas and Maize, Kansas. Additionally, she has worked with kids as a tutor, after-school program director, children's church director, and coach. She loves teaching literacy and helping others teach these subjects with more confidence. As a mother of five boys, she likes researching strategies that enable boys to read with more enjoyment and success. She also enjoys collaborating with others to improve literacy within the schools and our own program, especially in the areas of differentiated instruction, and assessment. Michelle is currently working on her Ed.D. through Liberty University.
