Bachelor Degree in the Content Area
with Secondary Certification

The teacher education program available to students desiring certification to teach at the secondary level (grades 6-12) is a joint responsibility of the Dole Center for Teacher Education and other departments of the college offering teaching field programs. For subject area requirements, please contact the appropriate department.

Teacher Certification Fields:

The secondary education program leads to teaching certification in the following fields:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • English
  • History and Government
  • Mathematics
  • Middle level Mathematics
  • Music, P-12
  • Physical Education, P-12
  • Speech/Theatre
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The education program requires 33 semester hours of general education courses and liberal arts courses for teacher certification.
