Hannah Podschun received several honors during graduation events held May 5 and 6, 2013. She received the prestigious Fran Jabara award during graduation. The Fran Jabara Award is presented to the top two students in each graduating class and recognizes the spirit of entrepreneurship and excellence in its recipients.

On Saturday before graduation, Hannah received recognition as a Masterbuilder, an honor given to six graduating seniors who best typify the spirit of Southwestern. This fall, Hannah will join the faculty of Brooks Technology and Arts Magnet School in Wichita.
During her years at SC, Hannah has proven herself as a leader who changes the lives of all those around her. She was a member of the Black team of Leadership Southwestern. She served on Leadership’s philanthropy board. During two of her summers, she completed internships at Project Transformation, where she planned and led lessons for the inner city children of Dallas. She has been a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society, and most recently served as its president. She was also inducted into Pi Gamma Mu, the social sciences honor society. Following her junior year, she travelled to Italy to study Italian at the Dante Alighieri Italian Language School in Siena.
Hannah graduated with a BA in English, a minor in leadership, and secondary-level teaching certification.
