Student and Graduate Comments
Don't take our word for it. Here's what some of our current and past nursing students have to say about the nursing program at Southwestern College:
"I am pursuing my BSN degree as a personal goal and dream. Southwestern's nursing program has empowered me through time management. The instructors have been supportive and flexible with time schedules. I would recommend Southwestern." RN graduate
"We handle all post-op open heart and vascular surgery patients and kidney/pancreas/liver transplant patients. I believe that my education and clinical experiences at SC greatly prepared me for all of the responsibilities I now have. Because of SC, I am able to combine my critical thinking and technical skills successfully for my patients." BSN/RN graduate
"I am so thankful and very proud to explain to people where my undergraduate work was done...my critical thinking skills carried me through everything. SC produces nurses who are critical thinkers and prepared to advance in higher education with only minimal RN experience. We are professionals who yearn to move beyond what traditional roles have to offer." BSN/RN graduate
"Several nursing courses emphasized spirituality and caring. This is where I learned that spirituality is more than religious preference. Some of my patients are terminally ill with malignant brain tumors...these patients need to deal with many issues, and the nurse helps them cope. This may only mean that the nurse spends time with the patient and listens to them express concerns and fears. I am grateful for the instructors at Southwestern who guided my learning and prepared me to be a caring nurse." BSN/RN graduate
