Hays School: Located south of Osawkie and north of Apple Valley Farm (which used to be called happy Hollow Farm where my mother and her sisters grew up) It was a wood fram structure. My mother and her three sisters attended this school.

Pleasant Valley: Located south of Ozawkie and south of Apple Valley Farm. This was a stone building. Nellie Schuster Frazier (my aunt) taught there in 1931-1932 at $65.00 a month. My uncle Leland Schuster started school there in 1932 to 1933.

Ross: located east of Pleasant Valley and north of where my grandfather's (Dennis Bergin) farm was. My dad, Victor Bergin, and cousin, Doris Jean Cook Johnson both attended this school.

Round Mound: located south of Ross (north of Perry). Les Worthington (who married my aunt Nellie Schuster Frazier) went to school here. My great aunt, Ollie Schuster Stark taught here. I happen to have acquired her teaching certificate. It is dated 1908.

Golden Valley: north of Ollive Branch and S.E. of Ozawkie. My grandfather, Paul Schuster, and my grandmother Gertie Metzger Schuster both attended school there. There was not grades back then. It was calle dreaders.

Lilly: Nellie Schuster Frazier taught school there in 1930-1931. Part of her pay was free room and board. She was expected to teach the children, do the cooking and cleaning, and when this was done, she was expected to stay in her room.
