Linn County

Submitted by Darlene Byerly

Southeast of Centerville, Ks, in Linn County is the #6 schoolhouse that is still standing. We missed finding it by 1/2 mile about 2 years ago. Some students who attended #6 was Byerley, Johnson, and McGrew. The building is located one mile northeast of "Wait" place where the Byerleys resided from 1948-early 1050's. A family schoolhouse search has been planned for Linn County for several years. Goodrich Grade School, the building now gone, was located on top of the hill in Goodrich beside the trailer that is presently there. It was a two-story green and white building. Christine Craig was the teacher.
