Winfield Fire/EMS is organizing an annual Stair Climb in honor of the First Responders and their families of the 9/11 attacks on the US.

About this Event

The Winfield 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will begin at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the 77 Steps of Southwestern College's Christy Administration Building at 100 North College Ave, Winfield, KS 67156.

Parking will be available on side streets, first come/first serve.

To commemorate the 110 stories the First Responders had to climb in the World Trade Towers, we will be climbing the 77 stairs 27.5 times. We will rest every 5 cycles of the 77 stairs (which equals 20 stories).

Career and volunteer firefighters can wear full gear including SCBA. Citizens can wear regular street clothes and comfortable shoes.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to a 9/11 Memorial Fund.

**City of Winfield and Southwestern College do not assume any liability for this event. All registrants/participants will be asked to pledge a waiver during ticket purchase.
