New Degree Offered at SC Professional Studies

Southwestern College Professional Studies is now offering a master of education with emphasis in special education (functional). This degree is intended for licensed teachers and will allow those who work or want to work in a functional level special education classroom to receive an endorsement from the Kansas Department of Education to add to their existing teaching license.

According to Christine Rogers, assistant professor of education, learners can choose from two options—a 36-credit-hour master’s or a 33-credit-hour endorsement.

There are two courses available to begin the program in the next Southwestern College Professional Studies summer session which begins July 8 and continues through Aug.18.  The new degree is offered both on ground and online.
