This merit-based award annually recognizes a transfer student who demonstrates outstanding academic ability as well as strong community engagement. Scholars must be accepted for admission to Southwestern College before they are considered for the Full-Tuition Scholarship competition.

“We were excited to welcome this group of students that are very involved in their communities and demonstrate excellence in their college pursuits,” says Adam Jenkins, vice president for enrollment management at Southwestern College.  “The competition was close, with modest points separating each student, and we were impressed by the thoughtfulness and careful attention each student gave to the essay response and their interviews.  Alissa stood out among the many talented competitors and did a great job representing her unique viewpoint; she will be a great Builder.”
