Concerto Competition
The South Kansas Symphony 2023 Concerto Competition will take place on March 11, 2023. There are two divisions. Senior Division is open to all current Southwestern College students. Junior Division is open to 12 to 18-year-old musicians from Kansas and Oklahoma and past attendees of the Summer Music Festival. It is open to all instruments and voice.
Senior Division
Senior Division is open to all current Southwestern College students.
- 1st Prize – Solo performance with the South Kansas Symphony (April 30, 2023) + $300 award
- 2nd Prize - $150 award
Junior Division
Junior Division is open to 12 to 18-year-old musicians from Kansas and Oklahoma and past attendees of the Summer Music Festival.
- 1st Prize – Solo performance with the South Kansas Symphony (April 30, 2023) + $200 award + full scholarship to the 2023 Summer Music Festival
- 2nd Prize - $100 Award + Half scholarship to the 2023 Summer Music Festival
- 3rd Prize – $50 Award + $100 scholarship to the 2023 Summer Music Festival
Application Deadline: February 10, 2023. Entry fee is $25.00. The competition will be held at Southwestern College. The 2023 Concerto Competition Application form needs to be filled out and turned in by this deadline.
