Concerto Competition

The South Kansas Symphony 2018 Concerto Competition will take place on March 10, 2018. There are two divisions. Senior Division is open to all current Southwestern College students. Junior Division is open to 12-18 year old musicians from Kansas and Oklahoma and past attendees of the Cole Family Summer Music Festival. It is open to all instruments and voice.

Senior Division Prizes:

  • 1st Prize – Solo performance with the South Kansas Symphony (April 29, 2018) + $300 award
  • 2nd Prize - $150 award

Junior Division Prizes:

  • 1st Prize – Solo performance with the South Kansas Symphony (April 29, 2018) + $200 award + full scholarship to the 2018 Cole Family Summer Music Festival
  • 2nd Prize - $100 Award + Half scholarship to the 2018 Cole Family Summer Music Festival
  • 3rd Prize – $50 Award + $100 scholarship to the 2018 Cole Family Summer Music Festival

Application Deadline: February 5, 2018. Entry fee is $25.00. The competition will be held at Southwestern College. The 2018 Concerto Competition Application form needs to be filled out and turned in by this deadline.
