SKS Annual Fundraiser is Sunday, April 10

           The South Kansas Symphony's annual fundraising event will be held Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m., at The Barns at Timber Creek which is located at 14704 91st Road in Winfield.

           Symphony musicians will perform chamber music while patrons enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine, and a silent auction. Performers will include Southwestern College's Williams String Quartet (Eva Farid, Ashton Humbert, Brandon Pew, and Troy Fort), students Deborah Martin and Leslie Wofford, and community musicians Rae Lynne Baker, Dianna Thompson, Hunter Rockhill, Alex Cartwright, Clyde Vasey, and Jayme Hayes. The symphony's conductor, Amber Peterson, will also be a soloist on Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in a performance Southwestern College music students. This event is generously sponsored by Jane Duncan and Craig and Diana Duncan.

           Tickets for the event are $50, with $25 of this amount being tax deductible. Seating is very limited and reservations must be made in advance. For reservations call Linda Newby at (620)-221-6216.

           Southwestern College is a private institution granting undergraduate and graduate degrees and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. About 1,600 students attend classes at the main Winfield campus, at six professional studies sites in Kansas and Oklahoma, or online around the world.
