CrossFlame Southwestern College is affiliated with The United Methodist Church.  The Wesleyan tradition encourages critical thinking about faith.  Methodists have always supported higher education by providing places for students to learn and by providing them with scholarships to support their learning.

 

Southwestern College (Winfield Campus)

  • United Methodist Connection Scholarship - celebrates Southwestern's connection and commitment to the youth of the United Methodist Church.  Provides recipients with $7,500 per year for four years (total $30,000).  To qualify, student must provide 1) evidence of youth leadership at the local United Methodist Church where they are a member, 2) graduate from high school with a 3.0 or higher grade point average, and 3) have a letter of recommendation from the applicant's pastor or youth director.  Applications must be received in the Office of Admission by February 1.  This scholarship may not be combined with other institutional scholarships.  Recipients who qualify for higher institutional scholarships may receive the higher award and still maintain the recognition of being a UM Connection Scholar.  Recipients must live on campus all four years to continue receiving the full award.
  • United Methodist Ministry Scholarship - offered to students who are members of the United Methodist Church and who are pursuing ministry as a career.  Funding of $1,000 per year is provided by the United Methodist Foundation and from donations received by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry for United Methodist Student Sunday.  Application.

This United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) supports additional scholarship programs including the popular United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program.
