Provided below are several different outlets to receive support if you have been involved in a sexual assault situation.


Southwestern College Resources

Please note: All Southwestern College staff, coaches, faculty, and residence assistants are required to inform Title IX Coordinator of the incident

Winfield, Kansas Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Resource Center

WASACFor students who have been sexually assaulted, The Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center in Winfield has a therapist who can meet with them. Additionally, WASAC offers court advocacy and support groups to students who are in need.

Support Services offered: Court and medical advocacy, support groups, education and outreach for survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence.

Faculty and Staff at Southwestern College that have a teal Ribbon sticker on their office door represent people that are willing to talk with students who have been involved in a sexual assault situation. They are there to listen and help you get the resources you need.

Four County Mental Health

Four County Mental HealthFour County Mental Health at Strother Field has a good relationship with SC. They provide public mental health services for four counties, including Cowley County. We work with them to coordinate emergency services such as suicide threats. If you do know a student who may have suicidal thoughts, please call Sarah Hallinan at 620-229-6175 and she can coordinate the response for a situation like that. Four County also offers tele-video services as well as open-access mental health services Monday-Thursday from 1:30-2:30 pm. Four County operates on a sliding scale for students without insurance or an income.
