Students who choose professional communication as an emphasis should select a minor. The minor will allow the student to develop expertise in a career area. The minors will allow them to select a specialty such as medical communication, science communication, political communication, athletic communication, etc. Student will also be encouraged to enrollments in as many experiences areas as possible, such as English journal, Collegian student newspaper, Moundbuilder yearbook, serving as communication or publicity chair for campus organization, interning in the Communications Office, etc.
