“Sometimes our light goes out but is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes the deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

Homecoming 2003 was a grand weekend of ongoing activity! Our total count of attendees at the 42 Homecoming events was 2,572 persons, and we applaud the efforts of all 182 individuals, businesses, and organizations that made the weekend possible. If your schedule allowed you the opportunity to come back to campus for Homecoming 2003, no doubt you experienced a rekindling of your own light…. Whether it was through conversations with old classmates, revisiting old dorm or classrooms, recollections of wisdom passed down from professors of college days, or all the above. Whatever re-energized you, I hope you will share that excitement with others who couldn’t come back. If you couldn’t be here, make an effort to get in touch with old friends. In the weeks since Homecoming, we’ve received a large number of alumni sign-ups for the class e-mail directories. Check out your class list and if you have not yet listed your e-address there, this is a good time to do so. Find your class list at http://www.sckans.edu/campus/directory/directory_alum.html.

Meanwhile, we hope to see you at future alumni gatherings to help keep your light shining bright! If you would like more information on alumni events and programs, please contact me at 800-846-1543, ext. 6334, at slowe@sckans.edu, or at 100 College St., Winfield, KS 67156-2499.
