From Alumni Programs

Susan Lowe '95

Homecoming. Just the name evokes thoughts of younger days… carefree antics, challenging accomplishments, and close bonds with family and friends.

This year, we hope you will make plans to journey back to Southwestern for a three-day, event-filled Homecoming weekend of good times. Every year, alumni who have not been back to campus for several years comment that they are so glad they came and they are sorry they waited to do so. We can't make you come. We can tend the stones and mortar of old Christy Hall, we can manicure the green tree-shaded slopes of the hill, and we can plan lots of fun, food, and activities… but only you can get yourself (and other classmates) here.

Check out the Homecoming schedule in this issue, get excited, and call some old classmates. Make plans to attend Homecoming 2004, then call for motel reservations (space goes quickly) and RSVP to let us know you are coming. If you have any questions, you can reach me at (800) 846-1543 ext. 6334, or e-mail slowe@sckans.edu, or mail to 100 College St., Winfield, KS 67156-2499. We'll be looking forward to seeing YOU in October!

Remember, you do not need to live in the area where an event is being held to attend. All alumni and friends of the college are welcome to attend any of our events, regardless of location. Contact the Department of Alumni Programs, 800-846-1543, ext. 6334, or slowe@sckans.edu for more information.

It's Coming Your Way...

Our new SC alumni directory is underway.

In September expect a questionnaire from Bernard C. Harris Publishing Co., which will ask for information to be used in the new directory. Your prompt assistance in filling out and returning the questionnaire to them will be greatly appreciated.

The updated information the Harris company compiles will be used to bring our alumni data up to date as well.

Then if you wish (but you are not under any obligation), copies of the directory will be available for purchase in either book or CD format.

Jinx Yourself Online

Is your 20-year-old Southwestern College T-shirt beginning to show its age? Did you break your Jinx coffee mug? Replacements are only a computer click away.

The Book Cave's eFollett Web site is a great place to purchase clothing, mugs, license plates, and other Southwestern gear.

Go to www.sckans.edu/campus, and click on the Book Cave link at the top of the pace for access.

Check Out our Great SC Volunteers!

Because space limitations do not permit room for volunteer acknowledgements in The Southwesterner, a complete list of volunteers for the last fiscal year can be found in the upcoming online SC Honor Roll. Names of Builder volunteers are accessible throughout the year on the alumni Web page at www.sckans.edu.
