Assistant Professor of Business, David Youland, Attends Conference in Indiana

Southwestern College is proud to announce that David Youland, associate professor of business, was selected to participate in the 2025 Enhancing Vocational Exploration Seminar offered by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) through its Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE). The seminar was from June 2–6, at The Alexander in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This seminar is designed to bring together a small group of educators who seek to contribute to the growing national conversation about vocation and calling. The participants in this seminar brought to the table their experiences with vocation on their own campuses, whether in teaching, research, writing, service, or inter-office cooperation. The primary focus of this seminar will extend beyond classroom applications to include research, writing, and institutional leadership on the topic of vocation. Youland is among 10 others chosen during a competitive selection process.

NetVUE is a nationwide network of over 325 colleges and universities formed to support and enrich vocational exploration and discernment among undergraduate students. A program of the Council of Independent Colleges, NetVUE is supported by the generosity of Lilly Endowment Inc. and member dues. CIC administers NetVUE with guidance from an advisory council comprising representatives from participating institutions.
