Bio

Dr. Bob Gallup is a professor of Physics and Mathematics at Southwestern College. He began instructing at SC in August of 1993. Dr. Gallup currently instructs College Physics 1 & 2, General Physics 1 & 2, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Elements of Descriptive Astronomy.

  • Charles H. and Verda R. Kopke Distinguished Teaching Award, 2009 – Awarded by the Administration of Southwestern College
  • Outstanding Faculty Citation, 1999 – Awarded by the Student Government Association of Southwestern College
  • Fassnacht Outstanding Faculty Award, 1998 – Awarded by the Administration of Southwestern College

Interests/Volunteer

In addition to caring for a colony of cats at home, Bob also cares for a group of four cats who meet him every night at the College. He also cares for all of the plants in the common areas of Beech and Mossman. In his free time, Bob enjoys learning and can be found reading about a wide range of topics that interest him. These topics range from physics, cosmology, geology, oceanography, history, to ancient Greek.
