Derek Ponce-Gonzalez (left)
Hi! My name is Derek Ponce-Gonzalez, and I am a sophomore at Southwestern College. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biology, along with completing my Leadership Certificate. I’m excited to serve as a co-director this year and can’t wait for all the amazing memories we’ll make at camp. A fun fact about me: I am the first in my family to attend college in the United States.

Hey! My name is Eva Navrat, and I am also a sophomore at Southwestern College. I am majoring in Digital Arts and minoring in Social Media, and I’m completing my Leadership Certificate as well. I’m looking forward to helping you grow your leadership skills throughout the camp this year! A fun fact about me: I am a Type 1 Diabetic.
We’re excited for another great year and can’t wait to see everyone soon!
Summer Camp: Leadership In Action
Some people may define a leader as one who is in charge of a group or activity. However, a true leader is a servant first. Rotary Leadership Summer Camp offers an opportunity to discuss the possibilities and responsibilities of being a servant leader, and highlights what Rotary is doing in different communities! Throughout the camp students will learn about themselves and others, and about motivation and teamwork. The students will discover that he or she cannot be a leader without being a servant first. Read below to find out more information on how you or a high school student you know can be a part of Rotary Leadership Camp!

What will we do?
The pop-up camp and summer camp will be filled with both mental leadership-building and motivational activities.
- You’ll work with other students in order to experience in teamwork
- You’ll set goals to help make a difference in your school
- You’ll get to distinguish your strengths what makes you unique as a leader
- We’ll celebrate YOU as a leader
