A Cappella Choir

Southwestern College’s A Cappella Choir (MUS 233 A & B) has built and maintained a tradition of excellence since its formation in 1927. This ensemble offers students the opportunity to perform choral works from numerous periods and styles ranging from the Medieval and Renaissance to the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and focuses on the holistic development of healthy and informed vocal techniques appropriate for all genres of music. This ensemble also emphasizes the advancement of students’ sight-reading abilities as well as their overall musicianship, and regularly collaborates with the South Kansas Symphony. Open to all students at Southwestern College, participants can take A Cappella Choir for 0 or 1 credit hour.
