SC Music Department to Present Winterfest Concert

The Southwestern College music department will present its annual Winterfest concert on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m., in the Richardson Performing Arts Center.  There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.

Winterfest is an annual collaboration between SC’s Pep Band “The Builder Band-Its,” SC Singers, A Cappella Choir, and the South Kansas Symphony (SKS).  Conducting the program will be Adam Lange, director of choral activity, voice, and band and Dr. Michael Christensen, Conductor of the SKS.  The concert will feature Dr. James Leland who will provide organ accompaniment of Christmas Carol Hymn Singing.  The concert will include the SKS, A Cappella Choir, SC Singers, and alumni performing F. Melius Christiansen’s “Beautiful Savior.” Other selections will range from traditional to contemporary. The concert will conclude with Dan Goeller’s “Christmas Carol Sing-Along.”

Later that evening, the Southwestern College Campus Players will present the 93rd edition of “Eagerheart” at 6 and 7:30 p.m., in Messenger Recital Hall in the Darbeth Fine Arts Center.  Admission is free with a non-perishable food item for the Winfield Food Pantry.
