Southwestern College will have a Veterans Day celebration beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

The celebration will be at the veterans’ rock in front of the Deets Library on the campus of Southwestern College.

The schedule of events includes:
• Welcome and opening prayer
• National anthem sung by SC senior Jasmine Jackson
• Reflections on service by Tom Jacobs
• Reading of names of the Southwestern College veterans listed on the rock
• “Taps” performed by SC senior Hunter Rockhill
• The announcing of a care package drive and a new grant for veterans by SC director of admissions Marla Sexson
• Closing prayer.

Following the ceremony at Southwestern, participants are encouraged to attend the Winfield celebration of Veterans Day at Memorial Park at 10 a.m.
