Kansas Teacher of the Year Team Coming to Southwestern College

The Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) 2018 team will be at Southwestern College on Thursday, March 8, in Deets Library’s Murray Reference Room.  The public is invited to attend and there is no admission charge.  The event is sponsored by the Southwestern College Ed Builders and funding is provided by the Southwestern College Student Government Association. 

There will be a meet-and-greet at 5 p.m., followed by a light dinner (RSVP is necessary and seating is limited).  The KTOY team will have a presentation at 5:45 p.m.

Kansas Teacher of the Year Samantha J. Neill, who teaches grades 9-12 English language arts in Buhler USD 313, will be in attendance along with 2018 Regional Teachers of the Year Jennifer L. Donovan (K-5 music, De Soto USD 232); Gilbert R. Still Jr., grade 4, Dodge City USD 443;  Jamie D. Manhart (grades 9-12 journalism, Silver Lake USD 372); Sarah C. VenJohn, (grades 9-12 mathematics, Winfield USD 465); Megan E. Nagel (grade 6 English language arts, science, Newton USD 373); Bradley W. Weaver (K-5 music, Atchison USD 409; and Angela R. Powers (grade 10 English, AVID, Olathe USD 233).
