SC Students and Community to Reflect on Parkhurst Lecture

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Southwestern College will present “Calling and Response: Reflections on Vocation,” at 4 p.m., in the Deets Library on the campus of Southwestern College.  There is no admission charge and the community is invited to attend. 

The event is a student and community response to the 2023-24 Parkhurst Lecture presented on Jan. 24 by David Cunningham, executive director of the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE), Council of Independent Colleges.  The title of his lecture was “On Not Throwing Away Your Shot: God’s Call as Gift and Liberation.”

The student panel will include Olivia Worsham, Samuel Shook, Joseph Kosongo, Cameron Carter, and Jordan Burford.  The community panel will include Tabitha Hogan, Mother Kathy Swain, Bruce Blake, Michael Beardslee, and Brock Brown.
