Southwestern College will welcome student onto campus as the school year gets ready to begin. 

Moundbuilder Check-In begins on Wednesday, Aug. 5 as incoming first-year students and transfers, who play a fall sport, will move into the residence halls at Southwestern College.  The rest of the check-in schedule is as follows: Returning students who participate in a fall sport will move in on Thursday Aug. 6; Freshmen and transfers that participate in a spring sport or are non-athletes will move in on Wednesday, Aug. 12; and returning spring athletes and non-athletes will finish the move in process on Saturday, Aug. 15.

Many events are scheduled for students and the community.  International students will have orientation on Friday Aug. 7, while first-year SC students will have an orientation on Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14.  

Freshman Workday is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15.  Freshmen Workday is a day of service where freshmen work in the community of Winfield, creating a positive change in our world on an individual and local level.

Builder Fest begins Aug. 5 and consists of a number of activities for all students to participate in.  Builder Fest will conclude with the Opening Convocation on Friday, Aug. 21.

Some of the Builder Fest activities include:

• Monday, Aug. 17, classes begin for students.
• Tuesday, Aug. 18, Rock painting party from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Wallingford lawn.
• Thursday, Aug. 20, annual Moundbuilding Ceremony at 7 p.m., at Cole Mound Plaza at the bottom of the 77 Steps.
• Thursday, Aug. 20, SC football scrimmage, Jantz Stadium.
• Friday, Aug. 21, Opening Convocation at 11 a.m. in Richardson Auditorium.

Friends of Southwestern College are invited to attend the Moundbuilding Ceremony, football scrimmage, and Opening Convocation.
