SC

Undeclared Major Advising

As a new student at Southwestern College, you are not required to declare a major immediately when you enter at the freshman level. If you’re uncertain what you want to do in life and really haven’t explored your options, you are free to take a semester or two to make the right decision based upon your specific interests and strengths.

Undeclared students are advised academically within Student Success & Retention. This service provides support for students who have not yet decided upon a specific major, allowing them the opportunity to sample a variety of disciplines without lengthening their time to degree.  Students receive assistance with course selection, career exploration, and can take advantage of personality and career inventories to help clarify their personal interests and educational goals.
