Moundbuilding Ceremony:
The Moundbuilding Ceremony is an event at the beginning of every school year on the first Thursday that classes are in session. SGA puts together a presentation of the rocks around campus and is presented in Richardson Auditorium giving a description of the meaning for each rock that is shown. When the presentation is over, everyone from the campus and the Professional Study Centers is invited to join together at the Mound at the bottom of Christy's 77 steps in front of Mossman Hall. Once everyone is gathered around the Mound, the different organizations, athletic activities, academic activities, fraternities, departments, employees, students, and staff place their rock on the Mound adding to its depth. This Mound represents the unity of the college and their continuing mission to be "The Premier College of Kansas."

Activities Showcase:
At the start of every school year, SGA sponsors the Activities Showcase. This event allows all student organizations, service-learning organizations, and other vendors to set up a booth to advertise, recruit, and showcase their school spirit

Homecoming Ceremony:
Each year, the students of Southwestern nominate Juniors and Seniors to be crowned Homecoming Queen and King. Although SGA is no longer in charge of the event, SGA still assists with resources for the elections and ceremony preparations.

SC Christmas:
SGA gets the campus into the spirit of Christmas by sponsoring the tree lighting ceremony.  A couple of dozen trees are purchased for a student organization to decorate.  The campus comes together to light the trees and sing carols before we depart for the semester.
