Degree Requirements

Bachelor of Music in Performance (Music Composition emphasis)

A rigorous 4-year program designed to prepare the student for advanced graduate study in composition or for a related professional field (arranging, orchestrating, etc.); training in harmony, counterpoint, orchestration, acoustic and electronic composition, and basic film scoring techniques

Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Music Composition emphasis)

Prepares the student for a teaching career, equipping him/her with the knowledge and skills to produce successful arrangements and compositions for school ensembles

Bachelor of Arts in Music (Music Composition emphasis)

Introduces the student to compositional techniques within the context of a broad liberal arts curriculum

Master of Arts in Music: Performance Track (Music Composition emphasis)

Advanced study in composition; work toward development of individual voice; solidification of craft

Master of Arts in Music: Music Education Track (Music Composition emphasis)

Advanced study in composing and arranging for school ensembles; solidification of craft
