Knak Attends NATA iLead Student Leadership Program

Lindsey Knak, junior at Southwestern College, traveled to Washington, D.C., from Feb. 21-23 for the inaugural iLead Student Leadership Program.
iLead is constructed around a series of educational and interactive sessions that are specially designed to provide key information to help students lead and communicate better as they enter the workforce and represent the athletic training profession.
Knak, a Fairview, Okla., native, was one of two athletic training students chosen to represent Kansas at the iLead conference.
“This was an unbelievable opportunity for Lindsey to attend such a great conference,” says Lisa Braun, director of athletic training at Southwestern, who accompanied Knak on the trip.  “She represented SC and our athletic training education program very well and is eager to share what she learned with her fellow athletic training students.”
The program was held in conjunction with the Feb. 23 Capitol Hill Day campaign.  Knak and Braun met with the legislative aides for Todd Tihart and Pat Roberts to educate about the profession of athletic training as well as to ask for support.
