SC Recycles Over 1300 Textbooks

The Green Team would like to send out a special thank you to the group of students and coaches who helped with the recycling efforts last Thursday evening. Thanks to the help of these service minded young men and women, the Green Team was able to “rescue” over one-thousand unused textbooks that were on their way to the landfill. The group spent several hours preparing the textbooks and the cardboard boxes they were stored in to be recycled. Approximately 1365 textbooks with an average of 175 pages apiece, or around 238,875 pages (8.5” x 11”) are now being recycled thanks to this group of students. According to, that amount of paper is roughly equivalent to 26+ whole trees!

A list of the names of the students who helped follows at the end of this message. Thank you so much for your time and effort to make SC a more environmentally friendly campus. Think GREEN SC!

Special Thanks to:
