Stacy Sparks holds a Master of Science in Communication from Fort Hays State University. She coordinates the Journalism emphasis area, and teaches Journalism, Photography and related coursework. She also serves as advisor to the campus student print media.

Sparks has been teaching journalism and advising student media staffs since 1988. She is an award-winning photographer and was inducted into the College Media Association Hall of Fame in October 2016. An active member of CMA, Sparks chaired the Adviser Awards committee for several years and has presented at the National College Media Convention.

Stacy Sparks has been a member of Kansas Collegiate Media (formerly Kansas Associated Collegiate Press) since 1988 and has served in several leadership roles in the organization.
