The Office of Financial Aid encourages students to apply for scholarships from private organizations to reduce the need to borrow money to finance their education.

Scholarship announcements are reviewed for relevance and authenticity before they are posted below. Once on the list, the postings are regularly reviewed to keep them up-to-date. Private scholarship applications, amounts, and deadlines vary. Most scholarships must be renewed annually.

Chairish Design Your Future Scholarship ($2,500)

This scholarship is open to students of all majors, but preferred to applicants pursuing a design and engineering-related fields. The requirements for this scholarship are that you have a minimum GPA of 2.0, are a senior in high school, enrolled in a college or university. Hospital Careers Future Nurse Scholarship ($1,000)

As part of our effort to support the healthcare industry's efforts to remedy the current nursing shortage, we have put together a scholarship available to nurses of all specialty areas. Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in a regionally- or nationally-accredited institution & pursing a degree in nursing or a specialty of nursing with at least 30 completed credit hours. Wichita Amigos de Ser Scholarship Program ($500 to $1,000)

Applicants must be Hispanic with at least one parent being of full Hispanic parentage and have maintained a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must have applied for full-time status at a college, university, or junior college, and meet all admission requirements of the school selected. OppU Achievers Scholarship ($2500)

Opploans.com is offering a  scholarship worth $2,500 for current or future education costs. Scholarship selections are made four times a year. Annually, the OppU Achievers Scholarship awards a total of $10,000 to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement. To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must be enrolled full time in high school or at least part-time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school, Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and be a U.S. citizen. American Academy of CPR & First Aid Scholarship ($1,500)

The “Save a Life” Scholarship of, $1,500, is awarded twice per year: once in the spring and once in the fall. Each $1,500 award will go to a different student, in order to maximize the impact of the scholarship, spread the word of the importance of first aid and CPR training, and share more stories from future educators and healthcare professionals. Ursano, Major General James Scholarship Fund It is Army Emergency Relief (AER) ($500-3,300); Deadline: May 1

Objective to ensure all Army families, active, retired, and survivors are made aware of the scholarship opportunities for the spouse and dependent children of soldiers. The “Go with Experience” Scholarship is a yearly scholarship awarded by Gerling Law. The scholarship focuses on highlighting the positive experiences students have experienced throughout the course of their education.
