Dr. Cheryl L. Rude (Ph.D. Union Institute and University) is the Professor of Leadership Studies and Academic Director of Leadership at Southwestern College. Dr. Rude joined the SC faculty in 1991. She specifies in teaching Intro to Leadership, Leadership and Ethical Worldviews, Leadership Research, Non-Profit Leadership, Service-Learning Travel, and Leadership Practices.
She enjoys traveling to new places (but would go back to Italy anytime), spending time with family, and reading historical fiction. Her spouse is Martin and he works at the college as well, as Director of Worship Outreach. Together they own and operate a small bed & breakfast and event venue north of Winfield, The Barns @ Timber Creek. They have two adult children, a son-in-law, and two granddaughters.

Research
Dr. Rude’s current research interests are on how students can develop the skills to integrate context in their leadership thinking and behavior and the role of leadership development in spiritual formation.
