Campus Players 105th Season
MAIN STAGE PRODUCTIONS
The Masque of Beauty and the Beast
October 20, 21, 22 - Richardson Performing Arts Center
Written by Michael Elliot Brill. Based on the legendary story.
A fanciful tapestry of the theatrical enchantment retelling the ageless fairy tale for audiences of children of all ages, this production is a favorite of college drama programs. Magic is created on all levels in this stunning verse play filled with sprightly dialog, delightful and varied characterizations, and a brilliantly theatrical handling of the story.

The Spitfire Grill
February 16, 17, 18 - Richardson Performing Arts Center
Music and Book by James Valcq
Lyrics and Book by Fred Alley
Based on the film by Lee David Zlotoff
Based on the hit 1996 film, The Spitfire Grill is a heartwarming and inspirational musical tale of redemption, perseverance and family.
A feisty parolee follows her dreams, based on a page from an old travel book, to a small town in Wisconsin and finds a place for herself working at Hannah's Spitfire Grill. The Grill is for sale, but there are no takers for the only eatery in the depressed town, so newcomer Percy convinces Hannah to raffle it off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the Grill wins. Soon, mail arrives by the wheelbarrow and things really start cookin' at the Spitfire Grill.

The Laramie Project* - CANCELED
April 19, 20, 21 – Messenger Recital Hall
Written by Moisés Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project
An update from the Director:
It is with regret that we must announce the cancellation of our upcoming production of "The Laramie Project." Given mounting challenges related to casting and scheduling, after much consideration, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the production scheduled for April 19-21.
This decision was not made lightly. We understand the importance of bringing powerful stories like "The Laramie Project" to the stage, particularly in fostering discussions around social issues and promoting empathy and understanding. I was certainly looking forward to sharing this story with our community.
We sincerely apologize to all those who were looking forward to attending the production and to members of the cast who had just begun work on the production. We are grateful for your understanding and continued support.
Moving forward, we are working on the selection of shows for our 2024-2025 season and continuing our work to improve our theater venues and spaces. On that note, we cannot wait to see an audience fill one of our campus performance venues in support of our students again soon.
