​Homecoming 2021 Events at Southwestern College

Southwestern College will celebrate 2021 Homecoming Friday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Oct. 31.  Numerous activities have been announced.

Friday’s schedule includes:

  • 2 to 5 p.m.— Registration for class reunions in the Christy Administration Building lobby.
  • 6 to 7:30 p.m. — All class Homecoming dinner, Roy L. Smith dining hall.  Recognition of 50-year class, 51 and above classes, and all class hosts.
  • 7 p.m.—Men’s basketball alumni game, Stewart Field House
  • 7:30 p.m. — Kaleidoscope concert, Richardson Performing Arts Center.  SC music ensembles with the South Kansas Symphony, (no admission charge, tickets available at the door).

Saturday’s schedule includes:

  • 9 a.m. — Homecoming parade, Main Street between 15th and 10th Street.
  • 10 a.m. — Builder block party and registration, Wallingford lawn and old tennis court area. Worship Outreach concert, rock painting, face painting, photo booth, and so much more.
  • 10 a.m.—Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Roy L. Smith student center dining hall. Inductees include Dale Dolezal '95, Ericka (Franklin) Joiner '09, Rich Jantz '70, Pat Johnson '99, Ngan (Nguyen) Morris '01, and Tyler Lytton '08/'10
  • 10:30 a.m.—Communications, computer science, and English reception, lower level of Christy Administration Building.
  • 11 a.m.— Builder baseball annual costume scrimmage, Broadway Sports Complex.
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.—Homecoming tailgate, under the tent in the old tennis court area.
  • Noon – President’s Luncheon for 51+ years alumni, Country Club.
  • 1:30 p.m. — Homecoming football game vs. Sterling College.
  • 5 p.m. — Class of 1970 and 1971 reunion photo and dinner, Winfield County Club, $30 per person RSVP required.
  • 5 to 7 p.m. — Class reunion dinner gatherings. (For full details on class reunion activities, check the Homecoming website for specific class—www.sckans.edu/homecoming).
  • 5 to 8 p.m.—Childcare available at First United Methodist Church, $2 hour.

Sunday’s schedule includes:

  • 10:40 a.m. — Homecoming worship service, Grace UMC, Rev. Stephanie Wall Brown ’93 guest speaker (Masks will be required).
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.—Sunday brunch buffet, Roy L. Smith dining hall.
