Curriculum
The curriculum at SC Learning Center values each child as a unique individual who is developing at his or her own pace and has his or her own style of learning. We believe that within our nurturing environment, your child will develop a sense of personal worth and high self-esteem.
All Tee Builder and Little Builder activities follow and align with the Kansas State Standards for Pre-K.
We provide a wide variety of stimulating learning materials for purposeful activity to promote each child's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and development. We provide weekly newsletters to parents that contain specific details about the daily schedule and curriculum.
While at SC Learning Center, your child will learn all about the ABCs and 123s, as well as explore many fun topics such as the Five Senses, Cooking and Nutrition, Zoo, Circus, Down by the Sea, Dinosaurs, and Adventures Into Space. Your child will be exposed to new projects and themes with extensions that may include field trips.
Frogstreet Curriculum
SC Learning uses the Frogstreet Curriculum for all of its academic and instructional time. The Frogstreet Curriculum is a research-based early childhood education program designed to support children in our center from 2 ½ to 5 years old. It focuses on holistic development, addressing social-emotional skills, language and literacy, math, science, motor skills, and creative arts.
Built on developmentally appropriate practices, Frog Street offers engaging, hands-on activities tailored to children’s unique learning stages. It balances teacher-guided instruction with child-led play to foster curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
A key feature of Frogstreet is its emphasis on family engagement, providing resources that involve parents and caregivers in the learning process. Ongoing assessment tools help educators monitor progress and customize instruction for each child.
The curriculum also integrates technology to enhance learning and communication between educators and families. Widely recognized for improving school readiness, Frogstreet supports diverse learners, including English language learners and children with special needs.
Overall, Frogstreet empowers educators, engages families, and nurtures young learners, laying a strong foundation for academic success and lifelong learning. This curriculum is also used at the Winfield Early Education Center, which is very valuable so that all of our early educators can go into public education with the same foundations of skills.
