SC

Mission

The Quantitative Literacy Center at Southwestern College seeks to raise the level of quantitative literacy for our students, for those that may become our students and for the broader community.  To that end, the QLC works to help students prepare for and succeed in both mathematics classes and in quantitative activities in other departments throughout the college.  The QLC also works to positively impact mathematical education at the primary and secondary levels, especially in support of schools that nurture potential Southwestern College students.

The activities of the QLC that promote this mission include offering tutoring and tutor preparation, engaging in collaboration and consultation with other departments regarding quantitative projects and pedagogy, providing opportunities for independent study, offering mini-courses targeting specific skills and mini-reviews to prepare for future coursework.
