INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
MAKE THE SWITCH!

m2Make the switch to "Real-World" training through the internship program at Southwestern College. Southwestern offers exciting ways for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom in a practical ministry setting. Further, the program is designed for students who are interested in learning the skills necessary to be a successful lay leader, who are prepared to work with youth, children, music, or in a pastoral role.

Pastoral Ministry
Feel a call to pastor a church? Have a chance to preach a sermon, lead a Bible study, visit folks in the hospital, run a meeting. Pastoral interns serve in a local church shadowing a pastor. Learn to think like a pastor, do the things a pastor does, and face the challenges a pastor faces. Students planning to go to seminary will have a big advantage by having this opportunity before going to seminary.

Youth Ministry
Get real-life experience in a local church working with youth, from just spending time getting to know kids to designing and running a youth ministry project. You’ll receive excellent training and follow-up. Work with a supervisor in the church as well as our internship coordinator on campus.

Worship Leadership
Learn how music plays such an integral part of our spiritual relationship. Get experience in traditional music styles as well as contemporary music styles. Go behind the scenes and learn how to apply music to the church. Work with a supervisor in the church as well as our internship coordinator on campus.

Worship Arts
Learn the elements of worship, the beliefs upon which great worship is founded, and have the chance to practice planning and leading worship in a local church. Learn from someone with skill and experience leading worship.
